Cloudamour acquired by RedPixie
Cloudamour brand to be retired but Feldman staying on as CEO
Born-in-the-cloud partner Cloudamour has been acquired by fellow cloudy firm RedPixie in a move the duo claims will create one of Europe's largest Microsoft cloud partners.
Cloudamour was set up by former The Internet Group man Mitchell Feldman in 2012 and specialises in cloud technology. It focuses on Microsoft kit - and was crowned the vendor's global cloud partner of the year in 2014 - but also carries other cloud services too. The firm has about 35 staff, which will all be retained following the acquisition.
RedPixie is also a cloud specialist and was set up in 2010. It has around 40 staff.
The deal, which closed for an undisclosed amount, will see the merged sales operation run from Shoreditch, while the operational side of things will be based in Watford.
Feldman told CRN the deal has been in the making since the summer.
"We've been dating, if you like, for four months [and] we've been admiring each other from afar for about 18 months," he said.
Fintech, insurance, banking and media will be the key customer focus areas for the firm, he added.
He said the move is good news for both companies.
"Literally overnight we will go from being good in our space to the best in the corporate world," he said.
The Cloudamour brand will be retired immediately and the RedPixie board will change slightly following the takeover - RedPixie founder Simon Bullers will become president and Feldman will be CEO.
RedPixie's Bullers said: "In Cloudamour, we have found an incredible partner who shares our vision and drive for excellence," he said. "This strategic acquisition represents a unique offering where the combined strengths of both businesses will be leveraged to deliver more value to our customers across the globe."
