VCE tightens grip on integrated systems market

Global converged systems market jumps 6.2 per cent annually

VCE has grabbed more market share in the integrated systems market, bolstering its position as market leader.

IDC claims that in Q3, global converged systems revenue increased 6.2 per cent annually to $2.5bn (£1.68bn). the integrated systems market saw sales slide 1.41 per cent to $1.6bn over the same period.

"The overall market is showing growth, but that growth is primarily driven by very rapid growth in the hyperconverged systems market," said IDC analyst Kevin Permenter.

"Smaller and more flexible systems, like the ones found in the hyperconverged space, were well positioned to take advantage of the burgeoning mid-market customer segment this quarter."

VCE remained the market leader in integrated systems, with its share growing from 24.3 per cent a year ago to 27.8 per cent in Q3, thanks to a 13 per cent sales boost to $482.86m.

HP also saw its market share grow - from 19.5 per cent to 22.5 per cent - but it remained in second place. Its sales grew 14 per cent year on year to $357.46m.
