Tim Cook trousers more than $10m in 2015
But Cook's pay dwarfed by other top Apple execs
Apple CEO Tim Cook (pictured) saw his earnings package shoot up last year, as he cashed in more than $10m (£6.86m), according to an SEC filing.
For 2015 Cook's salary was $2m (£1.4m), up from $1.75m in 2014 which, combined with his other compensation packages of over $8m, meant he earned a total of $10.28m last year.
But Cook's earnings were dwarfed by other top execs at Apple, with CFO Luca Maestri making a combined total of $25.3m.
Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of internet software and services, took home $25m last year, thanks to $20m in stock awards.
And Dan Riccio, senior vice president of hardware engineering, also earned $25m last year.
Despite these healthy pay packages to its top execs, Apple's share price took a tumble today, dropping below the $100 mark to $99.26. This compared with its price of $132.07 in July.
This fall in share price came a day after Nikkei reported that Apple is reducing its production of iPhone 6s by 30 per cent in the January to March quarter. The report said this drop in production was to let dealers use up their current stock.
