HEAT is on for e92plus

Distributor extends distribution deal with HEAT Software to encompass acquired FrontRange technology

E92plus has bagged distribution rights to the full unified end-point management range of HEAT Software, a vendor formed last year through the merger of Lumension Software and FrontRange.

Neil Langridge, marketing director at e92plus, a long-time distributor of end-point protection vendor Lumension, said the addition of FrontRange's service and end-point management capabilities will appeal to its managed services partners.

"FrontRange didn't have a distribution channel before and were working with a couple of partners or direct," he said.

"That is where there is a huge opportunity for both existing Lumension partners and new partners, who can get access to those products."

HEAT's management platform encompasses not only security but also licensing and asset management, mobile devices and IT services and support, Langridge said.

"Resellers who provide managed services are always looking for tools to make the process as simple as possible. This [combination of Lumension and FrontRange] extends our offering beyond just security to do everything to do with end-points and the core network," he said.

"Most vendors cover one area or the other and HEAT has got ahead of the game in terms of having the broadest range of features out there. It's a strong opportunity for MSPs."

The formation of HEAT was announced last February after Lumension backer Clearlake acquired FrontRange and drove a merger of the two entities. Headquartered in Milpitas, California, HEAT has 350 global staff.
