DWP seeks sole supplier for IT bonanza worth up to £75m
PIN unveiled this week
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is on the hunt for a sole supplier to overhaul the way it manages records.
A Prior Information Notice (PIN) was published this week outlining the plans.
The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) is planning the procurement on the DWP's behalf and is looking to appoint just one supplier on its Records Information Management and Additional Services deal.
The framework will last for four years - with the option to extend for an extra year - and will be worth between £45m and £75m over that time.
"This records management procurement will be for the provision of services relating to the management of DWP's hard-copy records and does not include any electronic records, with the exception of the provision of services relating to the scanning of hard-copy records," said the PIN.
"The service is expected to include, but not be limited to, accepting deliveries of records from DWP's business areas, preparing records for storage (including barcoding, indexing and linking of records), moving records into storage, retrieving files from storage, preparing records for return to business areas, bulk projects, and destroying and archiving records."
