Microsoft man crowned Citrix CEO

Kirill Tatarinov takes over next Monday

Citrix has completed its long search for a new CEO, appointing Microsoft veteran Kirill Tatarinov to the top job.

Tatarinov (pictured) will take over on Monday 25 January when interim president and CEO Robert Calderoni moves to become executive chairman "focusing on driving execution of the strategic plan".

Citrix's long-standing CEO Mark Templeton announced plans to retire in 2014 after a leave of absence. Tatarinov will be the first permanent boss since he left.

Tatarinov has 30 years of experience and most recently spent 13 years at Microsoft running its management solutions and business solutions divisions between 2002 and 2015. In the latter role, Tatarinov claims to have doubled revenue, increased profitability, led the division's transformation to the cloud, and managed the global partner ecosystem.

Citrix said his "strong product management background" and "extensive technology leadership experience" make him the right man for the job.
