LinkedIn's most popular tech bosses
LinkedIn reveals which tech executives' profiles were eyeballed the most in 2015
Channel veteran Ian Moyse, Sage CEO Stephen Kelly and former Apprentice candidate Lauren Riley are among those to make a list of "power" players compiled by LinkedIn to celebrate its reaching 20 million UK members.
LinkedIn has created six top-10 "Power Profile" lists, based on the profiles that received the most views in 2015.
Intel operations attorney Victoria Hair topped the technology list, with Richard Branson coming top of the pile for leaders.
There were also lists for human resources, finance, marketing and advertising, and students.
The momentary pang of gratification that accompanies the discovery that someone has checked your LinkedIn profile is one most people may feel only once or twice a week, but Moyse - who finished ninth in the tech rankings - told us his profile is checked out an average of 123 times each day - about 17,000 to 20,000 times a year.
"Personal brand is fast becoming the new equity in ever-increasing mainstream circles," said Moyse (pictured), a channel veteran who is currently senior sales manager at Rackspace.
Also featured in the UK tech rankings was Sage CEO Stephen Kelly, who revealed his glee about the accolade on Twitter.
SAP global vice president Charmaine Seabury was third; Aaron Neale, head of talent at Improbable, placed fourth; followed by tech entrepreneur and former Apprentice candidate Riley.
HP's chief cyber and security strategist Tim Grieveson and IBM's vice president of mid-market sales for Europe, Simon Porter, also featured.
Marketing commentators have talked up the increasing importance of hiring individuals able to influence opinions early in the sales cycle on social media.
Moyse (pictured) echoed this sentiment, saying: "Your personal influence on the world in your chosen segment has growing value as buyers and employers research what they are about to buy into as a brand and an individual. LinkedIn Power Profiles is one new-world indicator of who has influence and alongside Klout and Kred is another example of how the world around us is changing."
