Former Calyx execs gun for growth with new MSP
Industry veteran Peter Deacon joins Wiltshire-based Cisco partner ISN
An MSP run by a trio of former Calyx executives is stepping up its growth plans after appointing channel veteran Peter Deacon to oversee its business development.
Intuitive Systems & Networks (ISN) has enlisted Deacon – himself a former Calyx director – to drive business development and strategy.
Founded in 2008 by Richard Titheradge, Simon Rance and John Broadway – all of whom were previously at Calyx – ISN's clients include the Eden Project, Moto Hospitality and ISS. Former Calyx director Kieran Archer also works for the Royal Wootton Bassett-based firm.
Talking to CRN, Deacon said the plan now is to grow beyond its core client base into new strategic areas.
"They are looking to build and develop the business over the next few years, with a view to extending their datacentre and cloud offerings beyond their current customer list." he said. "They work very much around a core number of clients and they want to break out into some new strategic business."
Deacon said Cisco partner ISN, which currently has 26 staff, is looking to hone its focus on the security space in particular.
"One of the services we offer is going in and delivering technical audits on an organisation's security," Deacon (pictured) explained. "We did one recently for a big charity which identified a huge amount of problems, and we ended up producing a 140-page report, which wasn't pretty reading, but geared around solutions, not just scaremongering.
"We are trying to focus on how we can add value to clients around security audits and security management, particularly where we are seeing the likes of charities, NHS and retail clients centralising their internet breakout, but need to do so in a 'compliant' manner."
