Computacenter UK enjoys services surge in 2015
Modest growth in UK on the cards in 2016, Computacenter says in trading update
Booming services sales helped Computacenter UK grow three per cent in 2015, according to preliminary unaudited information published today.
Group revenue at the company was flat on a reported basis, but rose five per cent in constant currency in the year ending 31 December 2015. The group said it experienced "a substantial headwind throughout the year" due to the strength of the pound against the euro, which affected group profits to the tune of £3m.
In the UK, revenue jumped three per cent annually thanks to an eight per cent surge in services sales.
"Pleasingly, the pace of our services growth remains broadly consistent with the previous year despite the significant reduction of one particular contract," the company statement said.
In Germany, sales soared 14 per cent in constant currency while in France, sales on the same basis fell six per cent over the same period.
The reseller is looking forward to a promising year, the statement added.
"We are encouraged by the positive momentum that has built up in our German business, which bodes well for significant growth in 2016," it said.
"In France we have outperformed our expectations for 2015. However, much still remains to be done to improve this position still further and to make the business sustainable. The prospects for the UK, particularly in services, are still of growth but more modest this year. The benefit of our portfolio of countries should enable Computacenter to show another year of progress in 2016."
