VAR Intellect Security opens second office

Recently acquired security VAR opens new digs in central London

Recently acquired VAR Intellect Security has opened a new office in London to accommodate its growing headcount.

In September Intellect Security was taken over by channel investment vehicle Metaphor IT which was founded by Stuart Grist and Richard Callis who were formerly at Intercept IT.

Intellect Security is a security reseller which partners with Symantec and Centrify, and is headquartered in Henley. It has now opened its second office in Liverpool Street in London.

Callis, Intellect Security's managing director, said the new office in the Baltic Exchange (pictured) puts it closer to a lot of its customers.

"We were looking for another office regardless of location but the city suits us for a number of reasons," he said. "Firstly Intellect's client base is in close proximity [to it], so a lot of our customers are within 10 to 15 minutes' walking distance. It allows us to be more dynamic with our meetings so we can just go for coffee with people. And we are expanding, so we have taken on more technical and salespeople, some of whom are working out of London and some remaining in Henley."

The firm has taken on six new staff in the past nine months to take its total headcount to 15. Since its takeover, Callis said the firm's managed services are on the up and it has also seen a strong uptake in the release of its own cybersecurity product Soteria, a forensic service aimed at the mid-market.

Previously Callis has said he intends to make more acquisitions with Metaphor IT, and he said he expects the next deal to come within the second quarter of the year.
