HP Inc rocks up on £90m Scottish devices framework

Firm declines to comment on whether the channel will be let in on deal

HP Inc has been awarded single-supplier status on a £90m Scottish framework.

The Desktop Client Devices and Associated Services framework will be available to public sector organisations across Scotland, including health bodies, local authorities, universities and colleges, and other public organistaions.

The framework, which will see HP Inc supply a range of mobile devices, tablets, other hardware and peripherals, will last for four years and is expected to be worth up to £90m.

HP Inc was named the single supplier in a recently published contract award notice from Scottish Procurement - the vehicle through which the Scottish Government buys its wares.

HP Inc said it is not in a position to comment at this time when asked by CRN if it will invite its channel partners to fulfil the framework business.

In previous documentation about the framework, published prior to the contract award notice, Scottish Procurement listed a number of benefits the framework will offer public bodies, including pricing which is "significantly lower" than that offered in the current market; fixed pricing for the duration of the framework; and "transactional efficiencies", meaning e-procurement methods will be used.
