Westcon squeezes into Blue Jeans
Distributor appointed in UK, Nordics, Benelux, France, Germany, Iberia and Italy
Video collaboration vendor Blue Jeans Network has appointed Westcon-Comstor as its first pan-European distributor.
Founded in 2009, Blue Jeans provides cloud-based video services and counts GoPro and Facebook among its customers.
Westcon-Comstor will have access to Blue Jeans' entire product portfolio in the UK, Nordics, Benelux, France, Germany, Iberia and Italy.
Blue Jeans signed the deal to "amplify" its global reach by gaining access to Westcon-Comstor's large network of resellers and "address the increased demand in the Blue Jeans service", a company statement said.
James Campanini, vice president of EMEA for Blue Jeans, said the agreement will give real scale to the vendor.
"Both companies complement each other very well," he said. "Westcon-Comstor has an evolutionary vision of creating a portfolio of collaborative interoperable communication solutions, while Blue Jeans allows users to pick the technology they need to best solve the problems they face.
"Together with Westcon-Comstor's global reach, we will now be able to offer these services to many more markets, no matter the size."
Dan Connolly, senior vice president of Westcon-Comstor's global cloud practice, said: "Blue Jeans gives our customers flexibility to choose the technology they want and create the solutions they need.
"This vision fits well with Westcon-Comstor's ability to deliver global reach, supported by local expertise, with active cloud transacting customers and best-of-breed traditional and emerging cloud-centric vendor partners."
