Department of Health seeks suppliers for £7.5m deal
Up to five managed services firms sought by central government department
Managed services players are being sought by the Department of Health to overhaul its corporate services solution.
According to a recently published contract notice, the central government department wants suppliers to provide it with an interoperable finance, payroll and HR solution, which forms the basis of its Corporate Services Solution contract.
The contract will commence in September and will run for five years, with the option to extend for a further two 12-month periods. The estimated value of the contract is £7.5m based on 2,000 Department of Health users.
The chosen suppliers will be able to bring in new suppliers throughout its duration "to maximise efficiency".
The department hopes the new managed services will deliver three main benefits: they will be easy to understand and focused on user experience; support decision makers with timely information; and enable the department to be more efficient.
The new Corporate Services Solution will replace its existing Business Management System.
