Michael Dell unveils leadership line-up for merged Dell-EMC

EU and US antitrust authorities have given merger the green light

Michael Dell has announced who will lead the new-look Dell and EMC company as US and European antitrust bodies give the merger the thumbs up.

In a letter sent to staff which was filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Dell announced new roles for a number of both firms' execs (full list below).

Dell did not mention a specific channel head in his letter, but Dell's Marius Haas will have responsibility for the new company's go-to-market strategy in his role as chief commercial officer. Dell added that the list is not exhaustive and that other names may be added to it in due course.

EMC Information Infrastructure's CEO David Goulden will become president of the Enterprise Systems Group, with EMC's Bill Scannell reporting to him as the company's president of enterprise sales.

Throughout the letter, Dell referred to the merged company as "the future combined company" and did not give anything away regarding any possible changes to the companies' brands.

He insisted the merger is going well.

"Thanks to you for all of your hard work," he told staff. "The transaction is on schedule under the original timetable and the original terms. We recently received antitrust clearance from the US and EU, and are starting to see other countries provide approvals as well. We are also working to finalise the proxy statement and set the date for a special meeting of EMC shareholders later in the spring. Integration planning teams are making significant progress across all work streams."
