XMA ditches London pad and moves corporate unit to St Albans

Staff informed today of move out of the capital

XMA has told staff today that it will not renew the contract on its London office as it looks to make Viglen's former base in St Albans the headquarters for its corporate unit.

XMA, which acquired Viglen in 2014, has offices in Nottingham, Glasgow, Halifax, Reading and St Albans, as well as a serviced office in Bishopsgate, London, which it is set to leave.

In January, the reseller defended its position in the corporate market, insisting it was investing in the space, squashing rumours it was looking to exit instead.

The St Albans office - which used to be Viglen's home - will now become a Centre of Excellence for its corporate business, following "significant investment" in the division.

"We are absolutely committed to our existing corporate customers and have enjoyed some exciting successes with them recently, especially around our services portfolio," XMA told CRN. "We also look forward to forming new relationships with customers that we don't deal with today."
