Infinidat opens multiple offices after sales quadruple

Storage vendor says expansion drive is direct result of rising demand for its storage array product

Fresh from quadrupling sales in 2015, data storage vendor Infinidat is on a global expansion charge, opening offices in several countries simultaneously.

The US-based outfit claimed its international rampage is a "direct result" of rising demand for its flagship enterprise data storage array product, InfiniBox.

Founded in 2011 by Moshe Yanai, who as the lead developer of its Symmetrix product was credited for EMC's rapid growth in the 1990s, Infinidat last April bagged $150m (£106m) in funding.

It claimed its revenues boomed 331 per cent in 2015, with 49 per cent of sales coming through the channel by the end of the year.

Infinidat today announced it has opened new EMEA offices in London, Stockholm, Hague and Pretoria in South Africa, as well as five locations in Asia-Pac and Toronto, Canada. It is also in the process of moving to a new US HQ in Massachusetts which is treble the size of its current HQ.

The vendor claims InfiniBox is scalable to over 2PB of usable storage capacity in a single 19in/42U rack and offers 99.99999 per cent availability.

Counting on the finance vertical for more than a third of its sales, Infinidat claims it signed up 25 resellers and distributors in Q4, including Computacenter in Europe.

"Enterprise companies in every market face challenges posed by growing volumes of data, and they're seeking efficient ways to manage and utilise that data to its full advantage," said Yanai.

"InfiniBox provides companies with the performance, capacity and efficiency they need to address their data growth and utilise that data to be highly competitive."
