Former HP boss joins OCSL to make it 'famous' in cloud space

VAR wants to double size of services business over next two years

Former HP vice president Martin Hess says he wants to ensure OCSL becomes "famous" in the cloud space after joining the VAR and integrator as its chairman.

OCSL is aiming to double services as a percentage of turnover, from 35 to 70 per cent, after enlisting Hess, who spent nearly a decade at HP, latterly in the role of vice president of sales for Enterprise Services.

His arrival comes shortly after OCSL announced it was chosen as HPE's first EMEA partner for the pilot of a new programme designed to drive cloud services growth and test reward scenarios for partners.

"The world is changing and I have joined as chairman to ensure OCSL becomes famous as a leading services company in the new cloud-based world," Hess (pictured) said.

OCSL managing director Tim Thrower added: "One key goal is to double our services number within the next two years and Martin's insight and huge industry experience in growing HP's Enterprise Services division will be essential in achieving this.

"We are currently a leading UK partner for both infrastructure and managed services and plan to become one of the leading trusted providers for secure cloud services in the future."
