NTT Com targets cyber criminals with incident response service

Security player partners with cyber security consultancy to offer bespoke cyber defence and forensic services to UK customers

NTT Com Security has linked arms with cyber security consultancy Context Information Security to offer a dedicated incident response service to its UK customers.

Under the partnership, which takes full advantage of Context's team of security experts, the Incident Response Service will offer specialist certified incident response capabilities when a firm's security is breached, aimed at identifying, understanding, defending against and resolving any issues caused by the attack.

The new service is integrated with NTT Com Security's existing advanced managed security services, providing affected customers with full incident support and threat intelligence along with managed technical analysis services, and if needed, it can now deploy consultants on-site to assist with further technical investigation.

Peter Cunningham, senior vice president at NTT Com Security, said: "Context has a strong reputation in the cyber security industry, along with valuable relationships with government organisations such as CESG, CPNI, and CERT-UK. By partnering with Context, NTT Com Security can access a pool of experienced and skilled incident response consultants.

"These additional services will complement and strengthen our customers' existing security capabilities. By understanding all aspects of a critical incident, we can advise our customers how to respond appropriately and provide the intelligence to defend and mitigate future threats."

Mark Raeburn, chief executive of Context Information Security, said: "More and more organisations are executing effective incident management in order to reduce the potential impact of a security incident - but this can be difficult to achieve alone in an industry that is facing a major skills shortage.

"Incident response experts can be difficult to find, expensive to recruit and challenging to retain, which is why deploying a specialist team that uses the required skills on a daily basis and brings lessons learned from a wide range of incidents across many industries can mean the difference between an incident response success and failure."

He continued: "Context is proud to be partnering with NTT Com Security, the leading security solutions provider. The combination of our expert skills in investigating complex attacks, together with NTT Com Security's detection services, will deliver high-value cyber security services to our joint clients. In an increasingly challenging environment, organisations need access to the best threat detection and cyber security response services when it really matters."
