Sources: Kelway set to become CDW UK

CRN understands that Kelway is to make way for US parent company's name as early as next month

Speculation is mounting that the Kelway name is to disappear and be replaced with that of parent company CDW.

According to sources, the name change is set to take place as early as next month, but rather than the CDW International brand making its way over the pond, the firm is likely to take on the name CDW UK as a nod to Kelway's long-standing UK customer base.

US giant CDW snapped up the rest of Kelway last summer, less than a year after it nabbed a 35 per cent stake in the London-based firm.

In December, CDW declared it was "full steam ahead" for its plans to integrate Kelway fully into the company after posting growing third-quarter profits and sales.

At the time, Tom Richards, CDW's chief executive, said: "We moved full steam ahead building our integration plans to develop a seamless experience for customers on both sides of the pond."

No-one from Kelway was available to comment.
