Laws rocks up at CDW in branded taxi as Kelway name retired

Former Kelway offices transformed with CDW branding over the weekend

CDW UK's managing director Dan Laws appeared to arrive at work this morning in a CDW-branded taxi to mark to arrival of the new brand.

Friday was the last day for the Kelway name ahead of a rebrand to CDW UK over the weekend, a move CRN exclusively revealed was on the cards last month.

CDW acquired part of Kelway at the end of 2014 and swallowed the rest of it last summer for a total sum of $431m (£303m).

Laws (pictured) confirmed on Twitter that he is now the managing director of CDW UK, and Kelway founder Phil Doye tweeted his support for Laws during Friday's CDW UK kick-off, saying he was looking forward to Laws sharing his vision for the rebranded firm.

Today marks the first day of the CDW UK brand, with work to kit out the firm's offices in its new red colour scheme happening over the weekend.

CDW UK took out a front-age advert in this morning's City AM newspaper, with red and white CDW-branded M&Ms and bunting appearing in the company's offices across the country.

CDW boss Dan Laws also appeared to have taken a trip in a taxi which had been decked out with the company's brand.

In a statement about the rebrand, Kelway founder Doye said: "The opportunities to deliver enhanced services and solutions stemming from this integration offer tremendous potential.

"Everything our customers value about their relationship with Kelway - consistent local account management, flexibility, reliability and continued investment in our services capability - will strengthen as we become CDW."
