Exertis grabs wireless distributor Siracom
Acquisitive distributor buys Fortinet and Samsung partner
Goliath distributor Exertis has continued its shopping spree, buying niche wireless distributor Siracom for an undisclosed sum.
Basingstoke-based Siracom has 15 staff and offers wireless and security solutions from vendors including Fortinet and Samsung. It claims to supply more than 1,000 partners.
Exertis said the acquisition, which follows its 2013 purchase of security VAD Cohort, demonstrates its commitment to growing its enterprise business.
Phil Brown, UK IT sales and commercial director at Exertis, said: "We are delighted with the addition of Siracom to the Exertis business. The hard work begins now as we set about integrating Siracom and its team into our business and continue to deliver the excellent customer service and extensive knowledge and support that customers have been used to."
For its financial year ending 31 December 2014, Siracom saw operating profits double to £1.16m on sales of £14.2m.
Siracom managing director David Thompson - who was previously 50 per cent owner of the firm alongside fellow director Rob Leggett - added: "The Siracom team has built a great business and a great reputation in the field of WiFi and WiFi security. To join with Exertis, its broad market reach and its expertise in logistics and marketing is a compelling proposition. I am confident that this fantastic combination will lead to accelerated growth and a wonderful future for all stakeholders."
