ANS boss invests in tech festival

Scott Fletcher to invite top 100 UK CIOs and CTOs for audience with Steve Wozniak

ANS chairman Scott Fletcher has invested in an upcoming tech festival that will feature Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak as a speaker.

Fletcher (pictured) has become a major shareholder in Business Rocks, an event designed to showcase Manchester's credentials as a tech hub of the future.

Held on 21 and 22 April, the festival will feature more than 100 international speakers, including not only Wozniak but X Prize winner Dr Anita Goel and Jeff Hoffman, co-founder of Priceline.com and uBid.com.

As part of the partnership, cloud and managed services provider ANS is inviting the top 100 UK CIOs and CTOs as guests for an "intimate" audience and drinks with Wozniak (pictured, below).

The event will also feature tech demos, a "Homeless Hackathon" and an EU referendum debate.

"Business Rocks is an event designed to showcase Manchester's vibrant tech, entrepreneur and cultural scene," said Fletcher.

"The decision to support the project was very easy for me, as backing the event is backing the future of the city."

Jonathon Cadden, founder of Business Rocks, added: "We are thrilled Scott is investing in the vision of the Business Rocks brand. We believe that Manchester will become one of the biggest tech hubs in the world. With this in mind, we launched Business Rocks to inspire, engage and network with like-minded people. The event will bring together some of the most inspiring and entrepreneurial thought-leaders and start-up CEOs from across the UK and beyond."
