Wick Hill, CCS Media and Outsourcery among 'most inspiring' in UK
Tech firms were well represented on the London Stock Exchange's rankings
A handful of high-achieving channel firms have been named as some of the most inspiring in the UK by the London Stock Exchange (LSE).
The LSE publishes its 1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain report annually and the 2016 version features channel faces such as Wick Hill, CCS Media, Outsourcery, Total Computer Networks, Galtec, Millennium Business Systems and NewVoiceMedia (full list of technology firms on the list below).
The LSE claims companies on its list are "some of the fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises in the UK".
Outsourcery's chief executive Piers Linney took to Twitter this afternoon to celebrate.
"Great see @Outsourcery on a list of 1,000 business to inspire Britain," he said.
The report added that technology and digital business account for 12.4 per cent of the UK economy - a figure higher than any other G20 country.
"The UK tech sector has been growing faster than any other part of the economy for several years, with the number of tech-related companies rising by 31 per cent since 2010," the technology section of the report said.
"That is equivalent to 45,000 new businesses, or one new company every hour of every day for the past five years. Confidence is high and tech bosses predict steady growth will continue in the coming year."
Companies had to demonstrate growing revenues over the past four years and also had to have "outperformed their sector peers", according to the LSE. Firms must have revenues between £6m and £250m in order to qualify but any business with a 20 per cent deterioration in net assets over a three-year period was excluded.
