Scottish government fires gun on £45m IT consumables framework

Flash-storage devices and printer cartridges sought by public sector organisations across Scotland

The Scottish government is seeking an IT supplier to provide it with up to £45m worth of computer consumables.

The Framework Agreement for the Supply of IT Consumables was launched on 1 September 2012 and is due to expire on 31 August this year. The Scottish government published a tender document for the next version of the framework over the weekend.

A range of toner cartridges, ink cartridges, CDs, DVDs and flash-storage and memory devices will be procured from the framework, which will be worth between £35m and £45m over its four-year life.

"The framework Agreement is for the provision of IT consumables including delivery to framework public bodies' premises and associated service elements," said the framework tender document, adding that the kit will made available to central government, fire, health, local authorities, police, education institutes, the third sector and other public bodies.

The current supplier on the existing version of the framework is Bradford firm Spectrum Computer Supplies.
