PSCo sales boss shimmies into Midwich role

Richard Bovingdon becomes head of interactive at newly public distie

PSCo's sales director Richard Bovingdon has taken on a new role at parent firm Midwich, becoming its head of interactive.

The technical AV distributor was acquired by Midwich a year ago.

Bovingdon joined PSCo from Micro-P the year before the acquisition and was its sales director until last week when he moved to his new role.

"Midwich has always seen interactive as a target market but they've never had the focus in that space," Bovingdon told CRN. "So it's a market which is seeing significant growth year on year in multiple verticals."

He explained that since the Midwich acquisition, his sales director changed, giving him a chance to move into a new role.

"It was a good opportunity to go and focus on something new and strategically important to Midwich," he said. "I really wanted to stay within the group."

He said he has spent his first week in the role talking to resellers, vendors and staff, as well as assessing the competitive landscape.

Last week, Midwich listed shares on the Alternative Investment Market. Midwich's IPO valued the firm at £165.3m and was expected to raise gross proceeds of £75.2m.
