Transputec opens Israeli office

IT services provider set to scout security talent in 'Silicon Wadi'

IT services provider Transputec has opened a new office in the so-called Israeli Silicon Valley.

The London-based firm claims Israel's "Silicon Wadi" has developed into a "global centre of cybersecurity and expertise", with the area accounting for 10 per cent of global security technology in 2014.

Transputec plans to use the Tel Aviv office to headhunt cybersecurity talent in Israel, which it claims has benefitted from the exchange of knowledge between the military and commercial sectors.

"Some of the leading cybersecurity expertise in the world is based in Israel, with unparalleled experience in combating the highest level of cybersecurity threats aimed at commercial, government and military targets," said Sonny Sehgal, CEO at Transputec. "We would like to put that vast experience to use for our commercial customers, providing them with cutting-edge cybersecurity tools and solutions.

"Setting up an office in Israel will allow us to tap into the global cybersecurity hub that already exists in Israel, headhunt the best talent, and develop new services for our customers. This field is probably the fastest moving in the whole of the tech sector and we need to keep at the forefront of it if we are to give the best service to our customers."

Transputec claims that $60m (£41.7m) in revenue was generated by Silicon Wadi's global security businesses in 2014.
