Dimension Data CEO resigns after 12 years

Brett Dawson will be replaced by current COO Jason Goodall

Brett Dawson has quit as Dimension Data CEO.

The global integrator announced today that group COO Jason Goodall - an 18-year company veteran - will step into Dawson's shoes following his decision to step down.

With revenues of $8bn (£5.5bn), Dimension Data is four times larger than when Dawson seized the reins of the Cisco Gold partner in 2004.

Although Dimension Data's profitability was flagged up as a concern by executives at Japanese parent company NTT last year, Dimension Data executive chairman Jeremy Ord said Dawson has delivered "extraordinary growth" over the last 12 years.

Dawson also helped the firm globalise, as well as leading its transition into the NTT family, Ord said.

"While this journey is far from over, I'm extremely grateful for the leadership, passion and energy that Brett has brought to our organisation."

Dimension Data is one of the world's largest VAR/integrators with 31,000 staff in 58 countries and its own cycling team.

Dawson's exit comes just three months after the departure of UK CEO Calvin Goom, a post that was recently filled by Barney Taylor.

"We see many opportunities for growth across both the Dimension Data Group as well as the wider NTT Group," said Goodall. "I'm excited about the opportunities in front of us, to continue to build our winning culture, to accelerate the ambitions of our clients, our people and the communities we operate in. I'm honoured and thrilled to be stepping up to this opportunity and look forward to working with our clients, partners and employees in the near future."
