Whitman rejigs HPE after CSC services spin-off

Less than a year since HP split, newly formed HPE gets an internal reorganisation

Hewlett Packard Enterprise chief executive Meg Whitman (pictured) has overhauled the company's internal structure less than a year after it was established, creating a single global sales organisation.

Storage and servers-focused HPE was formed last November, when HP split in two, creating alongside it HP Inc, which sells printers and PCs.

HPE announced plans to complete a "spin-merger" in May, meaning its Enterprise Services division would be spun off and merged with CSC.

In a note published yesterday, Whitman said this meant it was now a good time to "centralise and simplify" HPE.

"To drive better sales execution while optimally serving our global customers, we are aligning our sales teams into a single global sales organisation within our Enterprise Group," she said. "These changes will make us easier to buy from and partner with."

The sales organisation will be run by Peter Ryan, who currently heads HPE's EMEA Enterprise Group. On top of this, HPE will centralise its product marketing, e-commerce, and customer advocacy groups into a single marketing team, which will be run by its CMO Henry Gomez.
