Avnet Cloud Marketplace arrives in UK and France
Launch follows launch of cloud platforms from rivals including Ingram and Arrow
A month after trailing the move, Avnet has launched its EMEA Cloud Marketplace in France and the UK, and has earmarked Germany, the Netherlands and Poland as nex to follow throughout 2016 and 2017.
The Cloud Marketplace will offer Avnet's own cloud services alongside the likes of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Brocade, Cisco, IBM, NetApp, Oracle, SoftLayer and VMware.
Avnet claims its marketplace is available through either a consumption or subscription-based model.
"The Avnet Cloud Marketplace is the latest example of how we're helping our partners capitalise on next-generation technologies as they evolve to ensure their own long-term success in the rapidly changing technology market," said Michael Fischermanns, vice president of cloud solutions EMEA at Avnet.
"We've designed the Marketplace based on our expert insights across a range of public, private and hybrid cloud environments, creating a one-stop shop for partners to deliver solutions that help organisations make the transition to a cloud-based business model."
The US-based distributor formally launched the marketplace in its home nation last November, and last month announced it was shortly to go live on this side of the Atlantic. The move followed the launch of similar offerings from its main competitors such as Ingram and Arrow.
Avnet previously told Channelnomics Europe that cloud, data analytics and a focus on mobility would dominate growth between 2015 and 2020, admitting that Avnet "had not made as much noise" as others in the cloud market.
