CompTIA unveils security and printing standards
Trade association launches more standards after dropping a number of its Trustmark certifications
CompTIA has launched two industry standards aimed at managed print providers and security firms in the channel.
The Channel Standard for Cybersecurity is based on a framework from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, according to CompTIA, and provides guidelines for business practices in five areas of security: identifying, protecting, detecting, responding and recovering.
The Channel Standard for Managed Print Providers covers business generation, delivery and operations, customer relations, and business direction, which are areas CompTIA considers critical for business functionality.
Kelly Ricker, senior vice president of events and education at CompTIA, said: "As a vendor-neutral tech trade association, we believe in providing tools to advance the industry.
"The channel standards are just one example of how, through sharing knowledge and ideas, we can help channel partners operate more effectively."
The two standards are the third and fourth in a series launched this year by the not-for-profit organisation, after it dropped some of its old Trustmark certifications to focus on its best practice programme.
CompTIA also launched new e-learning courses and a series of on-demand executive certificate courses to its members in March.
