Misco signs up Kelway and ONI alumnus Masih for cloud and services push
Channel titan plots growth after landing on all four portions of G-Cloud framework
Reseller heavyweight Misco has tasked former Kelway and Vohkus man James Masih with growing its cloud and services business in the UK.
Masih has joined the B2B-focused e-tailer as director of services and solutions. His most recent role before joining Misco was a brief stint at HP VAR Vohkus, prior to which he spent five years with Kelway and four with Cisco Gold partner ONI. The Systemax-owned reseller claims it is also looking to hire a number of "experienced IT consultants" with expertise in public and private cloud.
The cloud and services push comes after Misco bagged a slot on each of the four lots - Saas, Iaas, Paas, and Specialist Cloud Services - on the latest iteration of the government's G-Cloud framework. Misco European president Simon Taylor claimed his company's wide range of manufacturer accreditations will be a boon to organisations buying through the government's flagship cloud framework.
"Through our extensive enterprise vendor partner network, we offer those within the public sector a safe pair of hands when it comes to planning a cloud strategy that will help to future-proof the business," he said.
"At a time when things such as data sovereignty and compliance are weighing heavily on IT directors and CIOs, we offer customers the peace of mind that comes from knowing that there is no need to keep sensitive data onsite behind the firewall, as this will be stored in UK-based datacentres anyway. That's a big factor right now."
