Nimans targets 15 per cent growth in networking division
Distributor moved into the IT space earlier this year
Nimans has "significantly expanded" its networking division as it looks to hit 15 per cent growth in the sector next year.
Earlier this year Nimans announced a foray into IT distribution, having traditionally been predominantly a voice player, and the firm has now added thousands of new products to its networking portfolio.
Nimans took on networking products from TP-Link and Netgear, and has now added D-Link, DreyTek and HP.
Judith Addison has been appointed sales manager in the network division, a department that had been unmanaged for nearly two years, to spearhead the firm's network growth.
She explained that Nimans' diversification stems from customer demand for an "end-to-end story".
"I think it's because we have been asked more and more for the products that go around what we have been known for," said Addison.
"We're a distribution company that specialises in PBX, but everyone who uses PBX needs routers and switches, for example, so we found that we could offer these products and it has progressed from there."
Nimans is targeting year-on-year growth of 15 per cent for its networking division, and now claims to be "a total communications provider" as IT and voice channels continue to converge.
"You're coming at it from two angles: data and voice," Addison said. "Some have moved from the voice space into the data space and some have moved from the data space into the voice space.
"Of the people who have moved into the voice space, are they experts in voice? Probably not.
"We can offer the complete communications solutions, which is the right thing to do."
