Sipsynergy adds executive muscle

Channel-only collaboration vendor appoints sales director and COO on back of £2.75m funding boost

Flush channel-only cloud collaboration vendor sipsynergy has hired two more top executives.

On the heels of the appointment of channel veteran Tom Kelly as chairman and former Dell director Toby Gold as CEO, the UK-based firm has appointed Steve Day to the role of sales director and Ged Fitton as chief operating officer.

Sipsynergy, which scored £2.75m in private equity funding last month, claims its white-label channel set-up enables resellers to transition to an annuity-based UC-as-a-service offering.

Based on Cisco's Hosted Cloud Solution, it integrates back-end business processes such as quoting, provisioning, billing and support in a "simple to use" management portal.

Day formerly held senior sales roles at Westcon and Inclarity, while Fitton spent 16 years at Cisco.

"Steve and Ged bring invaluable experience, expertise and knowledge to the company and I have no doubt they will both make significant contributions in driving the business forward as we execute our business plan and continue to grow at pace to take advantage of the huge market opportunity we see for both ourselves and our channel partners," said Gold.
