Distributor Utopia signs European deal with Array Networks
Utopia MD claims the addition will complement the distributor's existing Huawai product line
Manchester-based distributor Utopia Technology has signed a European distribution agreement with US networking vendor Array Networks.
Utopia is currently an established Huawai distributor and managing director Steve McKeever explained that the Array solutions will link in well with the firm's Huawai offering.
Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Array provides application delivery networking to enterprise and public sector organisations.
"We're not looking to take on huge amounts of products; what we're looking for are complementary products," McKeever said. "We saw this as a good way of complementing the Huawai infrastructure that we're pushing out and it's just something we feel we can offer into the channel.
"We're not just trying to flood the market with the next piece of kit that's available - we're really thinking about how we can add value to the channel."
McKeever added that while continually investing in its strong Huawai business, Utopia will continue to look for vendors which present opportunities in new sectors, providing they don't clash with the distributor's current product line.
Array is also distributed by Nubeon in the UK and Rich Siegel, vice president at Array, claims the Utopia deal is a boost for the vendor's European partners.
"Utopia Technology has the market knowledge and experience required to effectively bring our products and solutions to market," he said.
"This alliance is an important strategic addition to our European channel partner infrastructure that will allow us to accelerate enterprise and service provider adoption, and enable current and future VAR partners to maximise their business opportunities."
