Azlan on an investment roll
Just a day after announcing its dedicated security division, distribution giant announces investment in specialist Veritas team
Azlan has added more capacity to its dedicated Veritas team by taking on a handful of new recruits from an unnamed rival distributor.
The move means its Veritas team is now 15-strong, comprising a mix of business development, sales and technical staff, and increases the size of the firm's enterprise team at its Warrington-based office to more than 80.
All the new recruits were previously employed by an unnamed distribution company which recently closed down its north-west office.
This is the firm's second investment announcement in the same week after it unveiled a dedicated security division yesterday.
Rob Tomlin (pictured), managing director, UK and Ireland at Azlan, said: "We made a key investment earlier this year with the creation of our Information Management (IM) business unit.
"The combination of our investment and a revived and focused Veritas following its split from Symantec has produced an excellent growth in our enterprise data management business. When we learned of this opportunity, we reacted quickly to ensure this experienced resource was retained within the Veritas UK channel community."
Jody Taylor, who was appointed business unit manager of Azlan's IM business earlier this year, said: "Our mission, closely aligned to that of our vendors and partners, is that the management of information, particularly with the advent of GDPR, will be a major focus for many organisations within the next two years.
"Our goal is simple: we will continue to grow our team and business with the aim of doubling our revenues very much on target for early 2017."
Tomlin added: "Azlan is fully committed to the UK market and has a very successful multi-site approach to supporting our business partners. "We continue to invest in our value business, targeting growth in key areas of the market and building our own skills and those of our reseller customers, to ensure that they can support their end-user customers in transforming their IT."
