ANS helps health club chain get hyper-converged

New infrastructure will serve Total Fitness' 17 branches

Manchester VAR ANS Group has implemented a hyper-converged infrastructure for northern health club chain Total Fitness.

ANS Group, which earlier this year announced plans to go private having secured £58m in funding, has deployed its RAPID solution across Total Fitness' 17 sites, claiming that the new infrastructure with allow for the creation of new applications and expanded IT capabilities.

The project also saw the development and deployment of a private cloud solution.

"The new RAPID infrastructure can be adjusted according to the needs of the business and can grow and adapt with the company," said ANS CTO Andy Barrow.

"Total Fitness is in the midst of a complete overhaul of its IT infrastructure. Projects like this often take months, but by opting for our pre-built hyper-converged system, based on industry-leading technology, means it was able to create a robust, flexible and operationally efficient system in a significantly shorter timeframe."

David Atkinson, head of technology at Total Fitness, added: "Getting the project completed quickly was very important - and that's where ANS really delivered.

"The quick implementation of RAPID caused minimal disruption for our members and staff alike and provided us with a reliable and fast platform to support the business.

"We are now able to build and roll out applications whenever we need to and adjust the price model accordingly. It has also given us much-needed capacity to expand."
