Avanade appoints new UK boss

Darren Hardman leaves his role as America COO to become UK GM

Microsoft services provider Avanade has appointed a new general manager to lead its UK business.

Darren Hardman, who was previously chief operating officer for Avanade North America, takes over the role from Julian Tomison, who will remain at Avanade in an as yet unspecified role.

Before joining Avanade in 2011 Hardman (pictured) spent 15 years at Accenture - the firm which co-founded Avanade with Microsoft in 2000.

"Having spent a number of years in the US, I'm pleased to be back in the UK to lead Avanade's business here," Hardman said.

"I am confident that we have the best people to make a positive impact with clients over the next few years and build our reputation as a leading digital innovator."

Avanade provides digital services, business solutions and design-led experiences based on the latest Microsoft technologies.

The MSP claims to have seen revenue growth of 19 per cent in the past year, and has more than 400 employees in the UK.

In its most recent full accounts published on Companies House Avanade reported a turnover of £105m and an operating profit of £11m for the 12 months ending 31 August 2015.
