NG Bailey IT Services chipper on H1 sales growth

£23m worth of new contracts secured across the UK, firm claims

NG Bailey has said it is on track for "another strong year" after sales jumped nearly eight per cent annually in the first half of its year.

Sales grew 7.8 per cent to £38.8m for the six months to October, after securing more than £23m worth of new contracts. The new deals came from across the UK and were for structured cabling, electronic security and distributed antenna systems (DAS) services.

NG Bailey IT Services is part of the wider NG Bailey group, which claims to be the UK's largest independent engineering, IT and facilities services business. Full annual results will be published next summer for NG Bailey IT Services, but the firm said its H1 performance shows it is "on course for another strong year".

In its 2015-2016 fiscal year, NG Bailey group tripled operating profit annually to £6m on sales which rose 12 per cent over the same period to £408m.

In the first half of the 2016-2017 financial year, NG Bailey IT Services won more than 30 new IT contracts spanning its full portfolio, said the company.

"The IT Services division of NG Bailey has been successful in securing contracts across both the commercial and public sectors, including nine deals with universities in the Midlands, Yorkshire and the north west," it said. "It has also been commissioned to deliver projects in the healthcare, retail, offices, transport and local authority markets, building on its already strong position in these sectors."

Bob Dunnett, managing director of NG Bailey's IT Services division, said: "We are extremely pleased by our sales growth so far in 2016 and look forward to maintaining this momentum to build on our strong sales and profitability performance in the last financial year.

"Our focus on positioning ourselves to deliver highly technical solutions in response to increasingly complex and demanding project briefs is paying great dividends. Clients are increasingly realising the benefits of partnering with trusted suppliers like NG Bailey who can deliver innovative, tailored and cost-effective solutions that best meet their needs.

"The emergence of new technologies has enormous potential to change the way buildings are designed, managed and used and we continue to stay at the forefront of developments. We've already seen examples of this in IP security and smart buildings and expect to see further disruption to companies as the Internet of Things and smart cities shake up the market."
