Comparex wins £50m public sector licensing deal
Microsoft Enterprise Agreement, software services and hosting services included in Essex County Council deal
Comparex has won a deal with Essex County Council which could be worth up to £50m, according to a recently published contract award notice.
The document said that the software and licensing provider - which has UK bases in London and York - will be the sole provider to the authority for the Information Services Software, Hosting and Associated Services agreement.
A Microsoft Enterprise Agreement, and software and hosting services, are required as part of the deal, which could be worth up to £50m, according to the document.
Comparex will be tasked with maintaining accurate Microsoft licensing information for the purpose of budgeting and software asset management, and will have to notify the authority when it is due for renewal.
General software services will also be provided by Comparex, along with other software licences and services.
Comparex was not immediately available to comment further.
