Computacenter expands presence in China
Reseller launches service support centre for China-based client
Computacenter has launched a service centre in China to support a Chinese pharmaceutical customer.
The service centre, based in the north-easterly city of Dalian, has been set up in partnership with Chinese IT outsourcing service provider Gamutsoft Corporation to support the client's 8,000 users in China.
"This launch marks a new milestone for Computacenter and continues our ongoing rollout of service centres and processes that not only improve our proximity to our customers, but also reduce cost and increase efficiency," said Mark Peter, head of international operations at Computacenter.
"Our aim is to build and expand where our customers need us most."
Computacenter already has a presence in China, with a Shanghai-based service manager and an international service centre in Kuala Lumpur - the primary service centre for the APAC region.
As well as the two Chinese centres, Computacenter also carries out infrastructure services in the east from a base in Bangalore, India.
The new Chinese centre hosts a team of 40 service desk agents and took 750 calls on its first day.
Paul Anderson, global service desk director at Computacenter added: "This investment, combined with our self-service and knowledge management tools, ensures we can deliver highly scalable and highest-quality services that flex to match peaks in demand."
