Simpson crowned chief of Microsoft partner group
ResourceiT CEO "picks up the challenge baton" from Dan Scarfe to lead IAMCP in the UK
ResourceiT's CEO Julie Simpson has been elected president of the IAMCP in the UK, taking over from New Signature founder Dan Scarfe.
The International Association of Microsoft Channel Partners is an global group aiming to bring together Microsoft partners to share ideas and best practice, while "enhancing their ties" to the vendor itself.
ResourceiT was founded in 2004 and aims to help channel partners increase revenue and profit. To date it has delivered 2,000 business, sales and marketing projects to firms across the channel.
Prior to her election as president, Simpson (pictured) led the Women in Technology section of the IAMCP in the UK.
In a blog post about her new role within the group, she paid tribute to outgoing president Dan Scarfe, founder of New Signature, who is stepping down.
"It's certainly a wonderful moment when a team of people you respect so much and rely on so much step out and say they want you to lead them," she said. "[So] my sincere appreciation for your confidence in me to pick up the ‘challenge baton' from Dan for the next two years. Let's hope I can continue what Dan has started."
She said when Dan took over, the IAMCP had "declining membership, struggled to get support from Microsoft UK and had a tired brand that wasn't attracting any new partners".
"Our mission? To deliver value to our members by becoming one of the strongest and most valuable IAMCP communities in the world. We're all about partner-to-partner."
