Cloud Distribution stages love-in with new vendor Praim

Italian vendor offers distie higher "level of love" and support than bigger rivals

Cloud Distribution has signed up thin-client vendor Praim as it pushes into the UK, claiming the Italian firm has "nice guys" who offer a higher "level of love" than bigger rivals.

Praim, which is headquartered in Trento, Italy and has offices in London and Madrid, was founded in 1987 and sells thin client and centralised management systems. It partners with the likes of Citrix, Microsoft, IBM and VMware and in the UK has distribution agreements with Boston and Actual Virtual.

Bruce Hockin (pictured), Cloud Distribution's director of solutions, told CRN that the firm was on the hunt for a vendor in the space and received strong recommendations for the vendor from its resellers.

"They recommended them over some of the more established competitors in the market basically because their support is so good and they're great to work with," he said. "On top of that fact, they've got a really good product. It is rock solid and a really good price. The most important thing is how they treat you and the value they build around the relationship. They are just nice people. You know when you just meet someone and you think you want to work with them because they're nice? They're really good people. So it's a combination of those things."

Hockin said Praim competes with the likes of Dell Wyse, HP and iGel, but added that its extra support levels help it stand apart.

"They always got the extra mile with technical support at the back end, and that's something that's missing from the majority of this industry - that level of love you get," he said. "We think it's good to have that with our vendors - it is absolutely critical."

Praim is "largely underrepresented" in the UK, Hockin said, despite it doing "quite a bit" of business outside of its native Italy.

"There is significant room for growth", he said.
