CDW, Insight and Softcat lead the way on £100m software framework
Universities buying group promises "reduced supplier profit margins" for its member organisations to take advantage of
Eleven resellers have won a place on a lucrative £100m universities software licence framework, but the buying group said this version will see suppliers earn thinner margins.
The Southern Universities Purchasing Group's Software License Resellers Agreement will be worth around £100m over its lifetime, which is due to be three years, with an option to extend for a further 12 months. The SUPC is leading the procurement on behalf of its own members and six other national universities procurement groups.
The framework covers software licences for Windows, Adobe, VMware and others, the contract award notice claims.
The eleven successful resellers awarded a place on the framework are: Academia, Bytes, CDW, Civica, Comparex, Insight, Phoenix, Pugh Computers, Softcat, Software One and XMA (full list of Lots and awarded companies below).
The SUPC offers its members access to more than 90 frameworks and claims by using them, they can buy competitively prices goods and services and save themselves times and money. In this framework agreement, one of the benefits it boasts for its members is "reduced supplier profit margins", along with EU-compliant routes to market and improved terms and conditions.
