Manchester VAR ANS launches recruitment drive
CEO Paul Sweeney says the firm is seeing increased demand for public cloud business
Manchester-based VAR ANS has launched a recruitment drive for its sales team after seeing increased demand for its cloud services, particularly around public cloud.
Paul Sweeney, CEO at ANS, told CRN that growing financial performance is the key driver for the expansion.
"If you take our last quarter, we are now averaging £1m a month profit. That's the first time we've got into that territory and I can only see that growing," he said.
ANS offers private and public cloud solutions, as well as enterprise networking solutions through Cisco.
The ANS sales team currently has a headcount of around 50 and Sweeney said the VAR is looking to take on about 10 extra staff.
"We're looking to take on some senior solutions guys," he said.
"Some of the deals that we're winning now are multimillion-pound deals so that needs a particular type of person and those are the people we're looking to recruit."
"We're very focused on Cisco NetApp and VMware, but we are seeing more interest in Amazon and Azure as we move forward."
Sweeney told CRN before Christmas that for the year ending 31 March, sales crept up one per cent annually to £46.2m, with adjusted EBITDA jumping 11 per cent to £6.8m, allowing for exceptional items relating to the company going private during the 12 months.
