Welsh government lifts curtain on £20m schools IT framework

PIN for pan-Wales framework published

The National Procurement Service in Wales is inviting IT suppliers to get on board with a £20m schools framework which will be in place across the country.

A Prior Information Notice for the Framework for the Supply of Education-Related Information Management Systems was published this week.

As part of the framework, which will be worth £20m over its life, the NPS requires suppliers to provide Welsh schools with education-related informational systems.

The agreement will cover the whole of Wales and will be available to all Local Education Authorities and education establishments across the country.

The NPS was set up to enable the Welsh public sector to collaborate better and work together when procuring goods and services. It claims it has a collective purchase power of more than £1bn, representing 20 to 30 per cent of Welsh annual expenditure.
