Lucky for some: Thirteen channel firms win place on £500m NHS framework

Mega framework was delayed slightly before Christmas, but suppliers have now been officially named

Thirteen firms, including Softcat, Stone, Insight, SCC and XMA, have won a place on a massive, £500m NHS IT framework, which suffered a short delay before Christmas.

The NHS Shared Business Services' Link 2 IT Hardware framework is a massive 10-Lot scheme covering desktops, printers, laptops and related services. It had been due to go live on 1 December, but was struck by a small delay. Framework bosses told CRN that it would be ready to be awarded by 16 December. In a contract award notice published this week, the names of successful suppliers were made public (full details below).

Softcat was the big winner, popping up on seven of the 10 Lots, with Stone a close second, appearing on six Lots. SCC, Insight and XMA won a place on half of the Lots, and the other winners were Centerprise, Dell, HP, Misco, Software Box, Parity Computers, Dacoll and Esteem Systems.

The contract will last for two years, with two options to extend it for 12 months each.
