New boss for ANS
Paul Shannon takes reins of cloud services provider from Paul Sweeney
Cloud and managed services provider ANS Group has crowned Paul Shannon as its new CEO as it shakes up the firm's top management.
Shannon (pictured) moves into the hotseat from his previous role of COO at the Manchester-based firm, with previous CEO Paul Sweeney becoming executive chairman.
With a headcount of 300, ANS - which was taken private last spring - reported revenues of £46.2m for its fiscal 2016 and is projecting 2017 revenues of £60m.
Sweeney told CRN that the executive shake-up will involve no change in the share structure, with him and co-founder Scott Fletcher remaining the major shareholders.
"This is really about giving Paul and [CTO] Andy [Barrow] the recognition they deserve as they have been responsible for the execution of the strategy over the last couple of years," he said.
"This will allow me more time to focus on strategic relationships with suppliers and customers, which is the bit I really enjoy and where I can add the most value."
In a statement, Shannon - who has been at ANS for seven years - said: "I'm incredibly proud to become CEO of a company that takes pride in innovation, customer service and being a brilliant place to work for our team. We are already a huge success story, but we still have so much more potential. Growing the company and delivering for customers is our aim, and it's a task that I am relishing."
