Softcat celebrates sale of millionth Office 365 Enterprise Suite
Reseller claims to be the first UK LSP to reach the milestone
Reseller Softcat is celebrating the sale of its millionth Office 365 Enterprise Suite licence, claiming to be the first UK LSP to reach the milestone.
On a blog post on its website this morning, Softcat said it has recorded the sale of its millionth Office 365 Enterprise Suite licence, including E3, E4 and E5. This sale brings the total number of Office 365 licences to almost five million.
"Amazing milestone. Huge well done to our fantastic sales teams, but especially our Microsoft team," tweeted Softcat managing director Colin Brown (pictured).
Softcat's alliances director, James Baker, described the achievement as a "significant milestone" for the firm, which "underlines both the importance our sales team put on providing Microsoft cloud solutions but also the appetite we see from our customers to adopt them".
Softcat claims it has seen a boom in public sector customers looking to buy Microsoft services since the vendor announced plans to open a UK datacentre, which it claims has given customers more confidence in the vendor's offerings.
Richard Ellis, Office division lead UK at Microsoft, added: "Microsoft UK are delighted to see the success and huge milestone of one million Office365 Suite licenses sold by Softcat. This adds to the 3.8 million Office365 Professional Plus licences also sold through Softcat. Microsoft remains committed to our channel partners, and milestones like this demonstrate both the popularity and widespread adoption of Office 365 in the market, particularly within the business community."
