Jigsaw24 gobbles BBC and Arsenal supplier

Apple reseller unveils Root6 as its latest acquisition

Apple reseller Jigsaw24 has unveiled creative-industry specialist Root6 as its latest acquisition.

Based in Soho, storage, solutions and service provider Root6's clients include the BBC, ITV and Arsenal and Chelsea Football clubs.

In last fiscal year ending 31 May 2016, Jigsaw24 parent company Insanely Great saw turnover rise from £86.9m to £95.2m, which it attributed partly to the bump it received from its recent acquisitions of Square B2B.

Jigsaw24 CEO Martin Balaam (pictured) trumpeted the news on LinkedIn:

"So excited to announce that the awesome root6, the UK's No1 storage, solutions and service provider to Media & Creative industries joins the Jigsaw24 group. Welcome to all the Root6 employees, customers and partners," he said.

In a press release, Balaam added. "They have an unbeatable history of providing the very best audio and video solutions to the creative industries - we have been truly envious of their technical capabilities and over the moon that we are now one team.

"We truly believe that we're at a point of change in creative technology as businesses increasingly start to demand cloud-based solutions. Our combined business - root6's unparalleled technical knowledge and Jigsaw24's datacentre, managed service and logistical expertise - is perfectly placed to meet that demand."

Rupert Watson, sales and marketing director at Root6, added: "Jigsaw24 have long been the major player in the UK creative technology market and we have seen them building their technical expertise in the media and entertainment sector. root6 are very excited about joining forces with them to offer our mutual customers the best from our combined businesses."
