Welsh government fires gun on £180m digital transformation deal

Pan-Wales agreement to bring a wide range of new technologies to the country

The Welsh Government is looking for a supplier to help it roll out up to £180m worth of digital services across the country.

According to a Prior Information Notice (PIN) published online, the National Procurement Service (NPS) Wales is set to roll out its All-Wales Digital Services Framework, which will cover a range of digital offerings.

"This procurement exercise will be undertaken by the NPS Wales for the provision of digital and ICT services to the Welsh public sector," said the PIN. "This will be a wide-ranging requirement covering a broad scope of services, including but not limited to: digital transformation services, web development, agile working, cloud migration and support, application development and support, systems integration and system architecture."

IT consultancy, web hosting and datacentre hosting will not be part of the agreement, and services will be delivered on a project basis, the PIN added. The role suppliers play in each project will vary from offering specialist expertise to undertaking large and complex jobs.
